I attended my first ball joint doll meet this year after so many years of being in Canada ^^; Not sure what was stopping me in the first place. I’m not always good in crowded situations could be one of the reasons crippling me. ^^; But I am glad I went! Met some new doll folks and their dolls :) I haven’t been in the ball joint doll scene for a bit, so it’s good to hang out and see what’s out there :)

The husband got me a blank head as a late birthday present and I finally got around messing with it. It’s a tricky process as I needed to spray a coat as a base to protect the vinyl from being stained permanently, let that dry before I can paint on it etc etc. Had to remove my attempts a few times before I finally got this. Not sure if she’s gonna keep the look but it’s good for now :) Her eyes are temporarily stuck on, I need to find some kneadable eraser or white bluetac soon ^^;

I made blythe size teeshirts with iron ons before, and I finally got reminded that I should try to make a Dollfie Dream teeshirt ^^; I wanted to bring Mirai Yukino chan to the Anime Evolution 2009 at the Vancouver Convention Center one of the days, and felt it is only appropriate if I at least dress Mirai in something which I made ^^;/
This week is a week of busy and surprises ^o^ I was trying not to buy too many doll items, but it is not always successful ^^; Below, Ginny is wearing a cute hat which came with my purchases from tibiloo.etsy.com ^^/
…for Danny Choo’s lovely Dollfie Dream musumes – Saber and Aoi chan really ^^; As you can see, final product is slightly different from the original finalised sketch, but thankfully Danny approves! Just mailed it out today, but got green light to post about this ^o^!
Working on a commission Gothloli outfit for Danny’s sweet Saber dollfie dream, have to make a pattern which means test sewings for my own Mirai chan ^^;
First make sketches of some design(s)… Get approval… Finalise some details… Certain details may change depending on the type of lace/trims used, but a basic idea is needed to start :)
The process usually = Start making a pattern (if it’s from scratch) with paper over half of the Dollfie’s body, draw some outlines, use tape to secure some area which needs to be tucked in etc. Cut it out, trace as a flat pattern with seam allowance, cut out the fabric pieces needed then sew an actual test item(or more)… Make some mistakes along the way (doh!), trash the mistakes, make corrections/adjustment and make a 2nd try…
Needed to run an errand today and since the weather forecast said it will rain on the weekend I decided to bring Mirai chan with me to do some cherryblossom hunting for a bit and I’m so glad I did! Mirai looks very very moe here no?!
Been rather busy these days, squeezed a little time to do some quick/warm up sewing ^^;
I saw a human size dress on a display (in different fabric) for a while now and wanted to make a doll sized version of it :D I don’t have a set pattern for this one unfortunately as I have to pleat and pin the “bra” part on the bosom of my Mirai to make sure they fit properly ^^;
