Pattern making and test sewing

Working on a commission Gothloli outfit for Danny’s sweet Saber dollfie dream, have to make a pattern which means test sewings for my own Mirai chan ^^;

First make sketches of some design(s)… Get approval… Finalise some details… Certain details may change depending on the type of lace/trims used, but a basic idea is needed to start :)

The process usually = Start making a pattern (if it’s from scratch) with paper over half of the Dollfie’s body, draw some outlines, use tape to secure some area which needs to be tucked in etc. Cut it out, trace as a flat pattern with seam allowance, cut out the fabric pieces needed then sew an actual test item(or more)… Make some mistakes along the way (doh!), trash the mistakes, make corrections/adjustment and make a 2nd try…

Sweaters owed…

Even before my Mirai Yukino chan arrived end of 2008, me and Danny discussed a bit about what he would love for his Dollfie Dreams girlies to wear. Sometime last week, I finally got my butt in order and finished up a few things he waited for erm a while now (gomene!!! ^o^;;) Thankfully it reached him safely not burnt! LOL

I wish I can make the stuff as fast as the many ideas keep coming in lol! Anyone know how to cultivate a few extra pairs of sewing arms? ^^;

Anyhows, on with the rest of the pix ^^;

Making of the Mirai Seifuku

As promised, here it is! A photographic documentation of the making of the Mirai Seifuku ^^!

I’m a big fan of Danny Choo’s Mascot(s) – Mirai Suenaga and sister Haruka Suenaga.  Heck, I even named my Yukino Dollfie Dream after Mirai! When I was influenced by Danny and fell in love with Yukino – a Dollfie Dream, I knew I had to eventually make my own Mirai Seifuku! ^^;  I guess Danny had a same idea for his Dollfie Dream, so he commissioned me to make a set for his lovely Dollfie Dream girls :)

It was quite challenging, as I needed to create a pattern from scratch, and make sure the pattern match closely to the actual Seifuku design by Azami Yuko Sensei. Thru researching various links, I found this particular japanese tutorial particularly helpful. (Domo Arigato!) Link broken :(

Test top for L bust part II

New wig (bought 2nd hand off a friend) and test blouse. She’s wearing the pleated skirt I made way before — these days usually only have time to make at most 1 item as I have other stuff to deal with at current =_=;/

I still need to tweak a part of the bodice area of this top as in certain angles she’s kinda erm exposing herself a bit more than neccessary ^^; will probably have to make something for her to wear inside this blouse.

Anyways having some pretty good light at home, so took some quick pictures during lunch time :3

Mirai Suenaga Cosplay completed!

So remember the Mirai cosplay test sewing?

That version was made for M-bust, and not 100% fine tuned, so when I got the L-bust for my Yukino Mirai chan, I made another version for L-bust and included more details of the actual Mirai Seifuku (school uniform) as kindly commissioned by who else but the actual owner of Mirai Suenaga ^O^!
