Himitsu and Mirin look so sweet in white don’t they? :)

I posted some photos on figure.fm as well, there’s a polling going on, right at this moment the preference is 50-50 lol!

My husband thought they look like angels, and asked me where are their wings :P

Mirin in L-bust, it’s a bit fight fitted in front ^^;

A white ribbon can be tied around the waist for a different look ^o^

Was glad that I did, as I realise that the clothes I picked the patterns out to make actually fit the Mini Dollfie Dream body quite well ^o^

Taiga was a bit annoyed that she wasn’t allowed to keep these ^^; I hope these will fit my friend’s Unoa (with L- bust) ^^;, in the pattern book it was meant for the bustier Unoas ^^;

The collar, cuff and bottom of the top have elastic ^^ and the back is fasten with hook and loop.

In case anyone is interested, the patterns I used for the top, skirt and bubble dress was from Dolly dolly coordinates volume 6.

The pattern for the bubble dress below is for Tiny fairy, since it’s quite loose fitted, with elastic parts and the strap is adjustable, I decided to make it to be included with the present ^^ Taiga models it for fitting :P

Kawaii? :D It has a light summery feeling ^o^

Currently very interested about Volk’s new 50cm Dollfie Dream Sister (DDS) body coming soon, wonder if it will fit Taiga? Or is it gonna go to Himitsu when I can afford it? ^^;

Was gonna include arm sleeves, but find that the fabric used is a bit too thick >_<

At this point, the socks do not have the brown ribbons yet ^^;

This pattern is made to fit Dollfie Dream, feel free to adapt it for other dolls!
IMPORTANT!: You will need to use light colour fabric or a fabric which you know will not stain your Dollfie Dream.  If you want to use a colour fabric, especially dark color fabric, please test it on a part of your doll which is not normally exposed to check if it stains.

In this tutorial, I used a dark grey cotton knit fabric which I have tested on a spare bust piece I have –  I know for sure the fabric I use will not stain my dollfie dream’s vinyl body. I have bad experience with dark sewing thread (black sewing thread especially), so I am using white thread — also, it is easier to see on photos.

You will need:

• A Dollfie Dream to lend you her leg (or a different doll if you prefer)
• Light colour knit fabric (example thin tee-shirt material)
• Paper
• Eraser (in case of mistakes, or if you are going to trace with a pen after)
• Pencil (Optional, a pen)
• Ruler — if you prefer to make a shorter pair of socks
• Scissors for cutting out the pattern
• Scissors for the fabric
• Sewing machine with light thread (not pictured above) Please use ball-point needle for knit fabric!

1) Position your dollfie’s leg on the edge of the paper as shown below

2) Use the pencil to trace the shape of the leg onto the paper, when done move your dollfie to a safe place :)

3) Smooth out some of the lines with the pencil, mainly behind where the knee is, and behind the heel. Add a 0.5cm seam allowance line overall, at this stage it is optional that you trace the final outlines with a pen, and erase the pencil lines. I skipped that ^^; If you do that make sure the ink is completely dry before the next step.

4) Cut out the paper pattern and place the longer straight part on the fold of the fabric, the “wrong” side of the fabric should be facing outside.

5) Carefully cut around the pattern with the scissors for cutting fabric.

6) Fold the rest of the fabric again the same way (wrong side facing outwards) and cut another piece for the 2nd sock.

7) Sew a zig zag stitch along the “hole” of both of the socks.

You can trim off the extra fabric near the end of the edge if you wish.

8) Fold in the edge of the socks where the zig zag is sewn into the wrong side of the pieces, sew a straight stitch along the fold.

When done, it will look like this the piece on the bottom is showing the “right” side, the piece on top is showing the “wrong” side.

9) Take one sock, fold it with the wrong side facing out matching the end where the “hole” of the sock is, baste the part specified in the picture. This part is actually optional but recommended to ensure that the edges match up when you machine sew.

10) Trim off excess fabric at the edge to reduce bulk. Do the same for the other sock.

11) Starting from the end where the sock is basted start machine sewing  to join the sock. Use the hole where the needle is at the presser foot to gauge where you are sewing — which is about 0.5cm.

12) When sewing around the corners, go slow and raise the presser foot time to time (With the needle in down position), use your right hand to stop the machine or roll the needle into down position before lifting the presser foot to prevent the fabric from moving from it’s position.

13) After the straight stitching completed for both socks, it will look as below, you can chose to turn the socks inside out at this stage and call it done, but I would recommend an extra step.

14) Using the zig zag stitch, finish the edges of the seam allowances.

Go slow around the corners, and do the lifting of pressure foot (With the needle in the down position) when needed.

15)  Almost done!

Turn it inside out :D

Tadah! Hope this tutorial is not too confusing ^^; Haven’t made one in a long time :P

Reward your helpful Dollfie girl by letting her wear the socks ^^/ You can add ribbon or lace details to the socks if you wish :) If you do not own a sewing machine, but have lots of patience and can put up with hand sewing, you can sew the socks by backstitching. See here for a list of hand stitching :)

And yes, this is a pair of “zettai ryouiki” socks :P you can use a ruler to mark the pattern if you prefer shorter socks for your Dollfie Dream girls, or any other dolls you try to make this pattern for ^^/ For a few more Himitsu in a white pair of zettai ryouiki socks as seen below, you can check this past entry :3 Yum!

Taiga has been feeling a bit neglected these days, I feel kinda bad ^^; So over the weekend when we were re-watching a couple of episodes  Toradora! I decided to take some time make something exclusively for her :)

So there’s a few things I may change if I ever spare time to do it again ^^; Skirt needs to be in a darker colour… the pleats are a bit messed up as she was on a stand with the holder on her leg under her skirt over the weekend after I completed it ^^;

Probably line inside of the red jacket with red instead of white…

Need to sew some white buttons on her white blouse too lol

Decided to trim her hair a bit as after a re-watch of a few episodes, realised her wig was too long ^^; Probably still need a little bit of styling and/or trimming but will leave it like this for now :)

A while back I bought a pair of pink maryjanes, we’re quite pleased with them.

I am waiting on a separate order of different colours so I will write more about them later when they arrive :)

The bottom of the shoes are possibly made of rubber, which gives it a slightly grippy feel, great to hold a pose as seen below :)

Below is the first test piece, and the pattern was still being tweaked at this stage. I did not use the fabric chosen for the dress also to be sure I can tell them all apart later ^^

Himitsu is quite pleased that she will get to keep this dress as payment :P

Test dress version 2, made the straps differently from first version, the under part of the straps is lined in white, same with the bodice.

Back of the dress is fastened with dolly velcro.

was intending to add the ribbons on the shoulder seperately, but since I want to try to make the straps a bit thinner, I decided to leave the straps plain and keep this one.

Love how the skirt part is so poofy :)

Today I got to work on the final version. I have to be very focused or I will make stupid mistakes which waste time and probably cause damage to the fabric of the item ^^;

For this final version I lengthened the bodice a tiny bit :P

Also added the ribbon bows since it’s the final version ^^

Want to make some variation of this design too ^^

I don’t own any Super Dollfies, but I wanted to make something for a dolly friend of mine who’s getting married very soon :)

I got to know said friend from one of the local doll meets, and the wigs which Himitsu and Nyanko wore I actually purchased them 2nd hand from her XD

I got Himitsu to model the dresses for me since her bust size is somewhat close to the Super Dollfie dolls -I remember seeing somewhere before that Dollfie Dream can wear some of the SD clothing.

Himitsu borrowed Nyanko’s wig for a little bit XD

Nyanko‘s “default” wig is actually too big for Himitsu ^^; Nyanko has a really big head ^o^;

One of Himitsu’s ear was covered when I put it on her ^^;

The blue fabric with cherry and tulips print on it is purchased from Japan a few years ago ^^; I couldn’t bear to use much of it, but this time I feel that there’s a good reason to use it XD

SD size clothes is quite loose on Dollfie Dream ^o^; If I ever make a dress like this for Dollfie Dream I will have to adjust the pattern ^^

Think anyone of you will be interested in this type of clothing?

I probably won’t make too many of these type of dresses, they do take up quite a lot of material which I may not have enough of, since when I bought these fabrics at the time, I had the smaller 1/6 size scale dolls in mind so I did not buy enough ^^;

Thanks to the initial results of the voting on figure.fm, and overwhelming feedback on twitter (haha I exaggerate a bit XD) I decided to make a few more of the gingham bikinis ^o^!

In fact  I don’t have much of  the fabric left ^^;;;; So this is likely the last of the lot for now, until I find/buy more of that fabric. ^^;

Also please be warned, please do not let your Dollfie daughters wear the coloured bikinis over weeks without checking! My girls wear it for 1-2 days with no problems, but they’re also mostly in a room with no windows — no direct sunlight.  And weather in Canada is generally dryer than in Asia, I wish to make clothes which do not stain dollfie dreams, but it is proving very difficult :( And always a hit and miss!

Too bad we don’t have a girly hat with a large rim to shield Mirin from the sun… time to make one? ^^;

She’s wearing a top made for DDII normal body, for M-bust, but the material stretches to fit her L-bust ^^

Managed to squeeze her feet into the pair of MSD sandals which happened to be too big for my MSD and Taiga (MDD)’s feet. How ironic ^^; Mirin stood on her own for a little while without a stand ^o^

Quite pleased with how some of the photos turned out, despite a little overexposed due to that the light was a little harsher than I preferred.

But you know, I cannot complain really, at least I don’t have to wear thick layers of clothes just to take some outdoor photos ^^;

Really like how the plants serves as a background for Mirin – mainly wild daisies and weeds.

The weather is quite suitable for the weeds to grow tall very quickly…
