I took Taiga (Mini Dollfie Dream custom) and Mokotan (Mamachapp) with me this time, and only use LX3 as it’s just too many things to worry about to bring a DSLR camera along ^^;

My main objective to attend this time is to check out UBC venue, and to hang out with some of my Dolly friends when I found out they were attending.

I heard that UBC is a nice place to take photos too ^^ the only thing is the weather was really hot this year ;_; everytime we step into the sun we felt like we were being roasted by the UV rays even tho I had with me an obnoxious green umbrella :P

We try to find shade at every opportunity to hide from the sun >_<

I brought Himitsu and Mirin with me and the theme of the doll meet was Masquerade + Summer

I almost completely forgot that I should make the mask until the last couple hours before I went to bed the night before ^^; so quickly made a couple with white card stock ^^;

When I got home, completely knackered, I tried to edit some photos, and photoshop crashed my laptop due to having to open too many photos :P I ended up not editing everything — it got a bit too late ^^;

The nice thing about big doll meets is there’s often sales or trades happening, either it be someone’s closet clean out or wanting to find something or even promoting some hand made items, it’s nice to save on shipping or be able to see something in person before buying ^^

The room was rather crowded, but it does not deter some owners from dressing up for the theme! There was a contest going on too :)

I’ve always been rather curious how they look on Dollfie Dreams. The blue eyes in the photo below is Mirin’s default eyes :3 (Animetic Eyes / F Type / Bright Blue (RURI)) the other 2 are some spare eyes which my friend kindly brought out for us :)

It was quite amusing to sit around and do our doll stuff in the food court :P we got some curious stares as usual, but today was not too busy at the mall since it closes at 7 pm ^^; The brown eyes look a little big too huge I guess ^^;

Later Mirin even borrowed the eyes my friend’s doll was using ^^;

This size probably look the most normal on her it seems, on photos the colour is a little too intense for me tho!

My friend Nurie’s Sonatine (Volks super dollfie) ^^/ She looks great in the Enchanted Doll Eyes ED Eyes No. 22.

Thought Mirin will look cute wearing glasses in this, so dug it up for a few shots despite having to take it in crappy indoor light :P

I’ve been sick with varying severity for about a week now, which was why the lack of activities on my blogs, but since I didn’t feel too bad yesterday I was glad I could make it to the meet without too much problem. Transit was really packed for most part due to the Olympics, I was glad I could squeeze in without getting squished asia style ^^;

Met kmyk’s sweet Nyia for the first time :D

Also meet her Himeno Azone Pure Nemo doll, she felt slightly heavier than Mamachapp :) Her hair is very soft and smooth, and she’s very sweet :D

Muuuhuhuhu… what can I make Chun get me…..

This particular set is made to fit M bust, but to put it on have to remove her head and arms ^^; but the back looks good this way I think!

I used white thread to sew this whole set this time, due to the staining scare from not too long back from the dark thread I used ^^;

I wanted to make Haruhi’s school uniform, but realised that I don’t have the exact shade of blue (doh) sounds like a trip to the dangerous fabric store is unavoidable ^^;

Mirin is wearing a rough version of Mirai’s Seifuku which I finally had a chance to force myself to complete after many interruptions. As you can see, the collar part is a bit messed up (the white trim)… My dollfie musumes will be keeping it so that they can cosplay and I can reference if I ever need to re-make it in future ^^;

Mirin tan is by default very moesome as she demonstrates…

Awwwwww *melts* Husband remarks that she looks like she’s about to burst into tears :P

I was thinking to myself, 4 seems to be a good number so far, since I’m already having a bit of trouble to get them together looking natural ^^;

There hasn’t been any real temptations so far other than having a need to save some $$$ for 2010.
I’m a bit worried about the White Album dollfies being a big temptation, but so far I do not have a strong want/need towards them… Or at least not for the preview ^^;

I’m actually very happy I made the plunge to get/make Himitsu chan, cos after adopting her, my dollfie dream family felt more complete :)

She decides that she likes cosplaying :P She was hoping to enter for the Otacool cosplay ^^;
