I took Taiga (Mini Dollfie Dream custom) and Mokotan (Mamachapp) with me this time, and only use LX3 as it’s just too many things to worry about to bring a DSLR camera along ^^;

My main objective to attend this time is to check out UBC venue, and to hang out with some of my Dolly friends when I found out they were attending.

I heard that UBC is a nice place to take photos too ^^ the only thing is the weather was really hot this year ;_; everytime we step into the sun we felt like we were being roasted by the UV rays even tho I had with me an obnoxious green umbrella :P

We try to find shade at every opportunity to hide from the sun >_<

I brought Himitsu and Mirin with me and the theme of the doll meet was Masquerade + Summer

I almost completely forgot that I should make the mask until the last couple hours before I went to bed the night before ^^; so quickly made a couple with white card stock ^^;

When I got home, completely knackered, I tried to edit some photos, and photoshop crashed my laptop due to having to open too many photos :P I ended up not editing everything — it got a bit too late ^^;

The nice thing about big doll meets is there’s often sales or trades happening, either it be someone’s closet clean out or wanting to find something or even promoting some hand made items, it’s nice to save on shipping or be able to see something in person before buying ^^

The room was rather crowded, but it does not deter some owners from dressing up for the theme! There was a contest going on too :)

I’ve always been rather curious how they look on Dollfie Dreams. The blue eyes in the photo below is Mirin’s default eyes :3 (Animetic Eyes / F Type / Bright Blue (RURI)) the other 2 are some spare eyes which my friend kindly brought out for us :)

It was quite amusing to sit around and do our doll stuff in the food court :P we got some curious stares as usual, but today was not too busy at the mall since it closes at 7 pm ^^; The brown eyes look a little big too huge I guess ^^;

Later Mirin even borrowed the eyes my friend’s doll was using ^^;

This size probably look the most normal on her it seems, on photos the colour is a little too intense for me tho!

Blouse for DDdy body normal bust  is the first item I got to, took around 3 tries to reach this stage, the necktie is a mock version, to see how it looks.

I am generally reluctant to take sewing commissions, it’s nothing personal really — they seriously take me a bit too long to complete, especially if there’s a few items in a set ^^; I want a cloning machine or something for doll clothes!

As each of the body and bust (I have M/L/Dynamite) the Dollfie dreams fits the clothes differently, I often have to start the pattern from scratch before I can make something, and sewing and tweaking can take a few tries over days or weeks before they actually work the way I want it to.

I started to sell items on Artfire recently, I need to make sure I continue this steadily, and it helps to a certain extent to get some cash flow in — very glad that there are people who like my sewing to buy them, thank you so much!

But I also need time to make them, which will slow down any type of “custom” work in progress ^^;

Also I prefer to take payment when I am nearer to completion of a set so that means I don’t get any $ until then and no $ is bad since we need $$ to erm buy stuff (like fabric and materials)/pay bills XD!  If I take the cash beforehand I feel pressured and rushed that can cause bad workmanship — waste more time ^^;

I’m interested to hear what people would like to see made tho. I won’t always be able to make by order, but if I am inspired to make something which is close to what people want, I will try to make it and list it in future :)

I felt very lucky that Mai asked me to contribute some sewing when she realised she was able to book a couple spots with JET SET for the Doll show 28 ^o^!  By the way I did not forget about some of the wonderful and patient online folks who I have kept waiting for a while, I’m definitely gonna keep a few sets to put online too when I am done! :)

Planning of the iron on, these teeshirts are display/promotional materials only until we fix the iron on cracking problem, I think Mai is intend to do some searching in Japan to find a better iron on transfer which won’t crack so easily (Otsukaresama Mai!)

It was a lot of fun deciding the designs :D

Each teeshirt’s fastening at the back is slightly different, kinda experimental as well on my end ^^;

This top below is made for Unoa small bust, it actually fits MDD quite okay, so I will probably be making Taiga something later :P

Most of the teeshirts have to be pulled over the head/neck of the dolls wearing it.

Except for this one below, where the velcro goes almost all the way to the bottom at the back, making it easiest to put on.

I had to take in the bottom teeshirt a bit, as the material stretched a bit as I sew, also I made the teeshirt a bit too loose in the first place as I never met the doll (a SDGr: Okita Soji) in person before.  I figure, you can always make a bigger shirt smaller, but not the other way round…

Do you sense a subliminal message in the design below?

It’s very exciting to see the shirts completed.  It’s quite simple to make a basic teeshirt, but there’s a need to do fitting every time something is adjusted to make sure it fits just right :)

I worked with Mai and Yuki before on a Blythe Beauty Contest entry last year, our entry Glacier Lily got into the semi finals :)  It was a great experience being able to make something together with like minded people!  Thanks Mai for allowing me to work with you! ^O^

Mai kindly brought some doll size pastries from Capers for Mokotan, Mokotan LOVES sweet stuff ;P  It was delicious I am sure, and so are the human sized ones ^^; Mokotan and cakes reminds me of taitan-san of taitan-no.net ^o^/

I have to share the few pastries photos because they’re so awesome :) I was going “Mmmmmmmm” every bite XD

I ate this, it was very good, very refreshing! XD

Acquired her from a dollfie parent in Korea with the kind help of Toel-uru san! I’m still pinching myself to make sure she’s real and there :P Yesterday I even dressed her up quickly with some older stuff I made and took her out with us for photoshoots! :)

First thing husband said when he saw her was that her eyes (optical pair) reminds him of a cat’s :) I think I may call her Nyanko :P

Soft grass and high heels and dynamite body is a recipe for faceplant/falling backwards :P

But luckily some shots turned out decent :)

I posted a few quick photos at figure.fm after her arrival :) I have been quite busy with out of town relative so no time to blog for a bit ^^; BBL!

I brought Himitsu and Taiga along, Himitsu wears a test outfit which still have to be adjusted at the waist and sleeves…

I’ve been sick with varying severity for about a week now, which was why the lack of activities on my blogs, but since I didn’t feel too bad yesterday I was glad I could make it to the meet without too much problem. Transit was really packed for most part due to the Olympics, I was glad I could squeeze in without getting squished asia style ^^;

Met kmyk’s sweet Nyia for the first time :D

Also meet her Himeno Azone Pure Nemo doll, she felt slightly heavier than Mamachapp :) Her hair is very soft and smooth, and she’s very sweet :D

Muuuhuhuhu… what can I make Chun get me…..

The top has to be worn thru the opening of the collar, so despite the amount of work put in, it did not sell when I tried to sell it ^^; I guess people generally like doll clothes to be easy to put on/take off :P

I had to take Taiga’s head/wig off just to put the top on her ^^;

Quite troublesome to do so, and I don’t think she likes it either ^^;

Not sure why but I like her a lot ^^;

I like my other girls too, but I guess since I already have clothes which fits Taiga’s MDD body, it’s easier to play with her without feeling that I don’t have something for her to wear…

I had been thinking about taking my blythes out, but seriously haven’t gotten shelving for them yet, so gotta delay doing so ^^; In fact I probably should pack away some of the smaller items laying around, as they do become a hindrance when I need to sew in the room ^^;

Quickly made Mirai’s body a pair of pantyhose to cover up for now, as the pimple cream I use to treat doll stains is conveniently MIA at the moment ^^;

I stupidly let my guard down as I made a pair of pants with this same dark grey/blue material and black thread and there was no staining at all, so I am quite puzzled as to why this happened this time when I made a skirt with the same material and thread. ^^; *scratch head*

The only conclusion is that perhaps the way I posed Mirai for the last week or so, the black thread was pressed against the front and side parts of her thighs and she was in that pose for at least a week+ ^^;.

I’m still kinda puzzled why this happened, since the very fitted dollfie pants I made, she wore it for at least a month or longer and no staining!

These pants were made really tight fitted too so I’m seriously confused lol!

Does your dollfie suffer from any accidental stains? Do you take precautions –  example full body panty hose etc or fix it after it happens?
